I've got a new MP3 player :)

Though I think the name PMP (Portable Multimedia Player) would suit it more, as I have no MP3s on it (such a primitive format).

Yes, almost 2 years to the day, I've replaced my aging brick, the Creative Zen Vision:M, with the brand new Zen X-Fi.  I only got the 16GB model because I "only" have 6.8GB of music, and I seriously doubt that I'll need more than 16GB in the next 2-3 years...

The 16GB model (as well as the 32GB) has WiFi built in.  But, unlike the iPods which seem to have forgotten what they're for, the Zen X-Fi uses the wireless connectivity for media things, such as streaming songs from a media server at home, or from Creative's online servers which dish out podcasts.  Most of these podcasts seem to be Australian radio shows, for some reason, but they are pretty funny (I've only listened to the 'comedy' section so far), so I have no problem with it.

As for X-Fi, or 'Xtreme Fidelity', combined with the supplied earphones (which cost 100Fr by themselves - almost a third of the total cost of the player!) the sound quality is top knotch (is there a K ?).  The battery will last 35 hours playing music - roughly 35 times the batterly life boasted by today's most "innovative" gadget, the iPhone!)

Creative claim that the player is credit card sized, though I've never seen a credit card that's 13mm thick.  //Sarcasm off.

I've also made a new poll to reflect this post.  Jesus out.

Sunburn Tournament

I win Smile.  I was at the OpenAir festival in St Gallen this weekend.  I hadn't seen a programme since Thursday evening, so I completely forgot who was on and when.  Turns out that the Manic Street Preachers were there (that's twice in 3 weeks for me), followed by Lenny Kravitz (very cool).  The Fratellis were on yesterday - perfect concert music.

Yesterday's concerts were all during the day time rather than the evening (I think there was a football game on or something), so the sun was out and shade was hard to come by.  As a result, I'm white on the left, and quite badly burnt on the right side.  Yes, its funny to look at, but it hurts quite a bit.

I should just point out that I do not recommend using trains as a hotel - its very tiring, and you have to wake up every 2 hours to change train.

No new poll this weekend, sorry.  I wasn't at home much so I didn't get a chance to upload the new thingy.  Besides, I haven't thought of a new question yet...
[Edit] - New poll is up, from the mastermind that is my sister.  She'd thought it'd be funny to know who you are.

The last poll turned out as two lumps majority - 18 out of 22 people voted for two, while one lump and more both got 2 votes each.

One Down, Two to Go

Well, that's the Caribana festival done with.  Two more to go...

Caribana is tiny!  Its almost cute.  Its not often you can't see the stage because a tree's in the way, either.

A fairly wide range of bands were there, from the Stereophics to Boy George.  Infadels were also there, which made them the first band that I've seen twice.  For some reason, the Manic Street preachers did a cover of Rihanna's Umbrella song (which was pretty good), and Boy George did T-Rex's Get It On.

I've stuck some pictures up in the gallery, so go have a look if you like.

I Should Be So Lucky

Apologies for the cheesy title, but that Kylie concert was pretty good in the end.  It was almost 3 hours!  We all had to sing Happy Birthday (40) to her half way through (though that was actually Wednesday).

I didn't take any pictures, but here are some I found on the web (taken by Mark Remund):

Picture 1    Picture 2    Picture 3
Picture 4    Picture 5    Picture 6

I did have a video from YouTube on here, but they've all been removed, so never mind.
